There are many ways to contribute your time and talent to Girls on the Run!
Coaching offers the most interaction with the incredible girls who participate in Girls on the Run. Each coach possesses infectious enthusiasm, strong character, and the joyful spirit necessary to educate and motivate girls. All share the desire to work with girls from different races, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and to prepare each girl for a healthy adolescence and adulthood. Become a Coach today!
Share a girl's excitement and enormous sense of accomplishment as she crosses the finish line of her first 1-mile or 5K run. Each Running Buddy is paired with a girl for one practice plus the final event – the Lollipop Family Fun Run – for a total commitment of 2 times. This adult runs by her side, encouraging her to do her best while also recognizing and respecting her limits. Become a Running Buddy today!
Consider joining one of our committees to research and prepare grant proposals, plan our season-end Lollipop Run, support our coaches, assist with marketing and PR, plan fundraising events, or help with Team Tiara, our chairty running program.
Help out in the office during our busy program seasons or at special events throughout the year. Office hours are flexible between 9am and 5pm. Special events typically take place during evenings and weekends. Help us out on an as-needed basis!
Our 10-week programs end with the Lollipop Family Fun Run. This event is truly inspirational as 250 girls in 3rd through 8th grades cross the finish line of their first 1-mile or 5K with huge smiles on their faces and a tremendous sense of accomplishment. We need race day volunteers to help with course monitoring, race registration, T-shirt and goodie bag distribution at the finish line, face painting and games, food and beverage and the water stop.
