Lollipop Committee

ABOUT THE RUN

MISSION OF THE COMMITTEE

The Lollipop Run is a family-friendly 5k and 1 mile run.  The race on May 12th, 2012, will be our 17th semi-annual event.  The event is attended by around 1000 participants, including 400 girls from our Girls on the Run programs, additional registered community participants, and hundreds of spectators.  It features kid-friendly games and activities, and KFOG DJ Renee Richardson will host a post-race program with awards for participants.  It is truly inspiring to be a part of an event where hundreds of girls (and adults, too!) are crossing the finish line for their first time!

The Lollipop Committee is tasked with elevating the race to a higher level through event organizing, promotion, and donation solicitation.  Our major goals are to:

  1. Grow race participation
  2. Increase Lollipop Run exposure, particularly to Bay Area families.
  3. Give our runners, volunteers, and spectators a wonderful race experience!
