Join You Can Run, an adult half marathon training group supporting Girls on the Run of the Bay Area.
Our next season gets going July 12 for the San Jose Rock 'n Roll Marathon on October 3rd, 2010! REGISTER HERE!
What:
During the season we will not only train for the San Jose Rock 'n Roll Marathon (an achievement in itself), but will also have our sights set on raising $50,000 to provide more than 160 girls with scholarships to participate in the Fall 2010 season of Girls on the Run.
We are proud to announce that PacWest will be the official half marathon coach and training provider for this season of You Can Run. PacWest has been a longtime supporter of Girls on the Run, and we are thrilled to have their expertise in training our runners!
Who: You!
We invite the community to join us for weekly track workouts and group runs in San Francisco, Oakland and Palo Alto. The training program is perfect for beginner and advanced runners, all individuals are setup with a personalized Training Peaks account, and will receive daily training logs and weekly team updates.
This is an adult training group. Those interested who are younger than 18 are welcome, but will need parental permission to participate.
How much:
The cost to join and train is free. You Can Run asks in return that each member commit to raising a minimum of $1300. Members of the team receive:
- A 12-week personalized training schedule
- Two You Can Run team workouts per week
- A weekly emails from PacWest and You Can Run to support your training and fundraising efforts
- Invitations to team social events
- Fundraising tips and guidance
- Ongoing support from the You Can Run Team Captain and PacWest Coaches
- Discounts from local businesses, and more!
