Hello! My name is Myriam Tellez Ramirez, and I am thrilled to be joining Girls on the Run Bay
Area as a summer intern. I am entering my final year at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Psychology and Legal Studies. I am drawn to hands-on, community-based work rooted in social impact; values
that align powerfully with the mission of Girls on the Run. I’m especially passionate about creating accessible and equitable wellness resources and hope to eventually pursue policy reform that bridges mental health and legal systems. This summer, I am excited to bring my passion for equity, mental health, and youth mentorship
to GOTR. Running has become a key part of my well-being. Transitioning from a background in
dance, color guard, and cheer, I found that running helped me stay grounded during the
challenges of the busy college life.
As the oldest daughter in a low-income immigrant household, I’ve witnessed firsthand how important it is for young girls to build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of identity. I was inspired to intern with GOTR because I believe in the transformative power of nurturing the emotional, physical, and mental elements of a girl, just like Girls on the Run. GOTR’s commitment to empowerment and mentorship resonates deeply with my lived experiences, and I look forward to contributing to the team.
