Hi! My name is Ryann Davis, and I am currently a rising junior at Santa Clara University, pursuing a degree in Biology. Throughout my childhood, I was always involved in sports. My mom signed me up for just about every activity she could find. While I enjoyed trying different things, volleyball quickly became my favorite. I played competitive volleyball for seven years and have been coaching for the past two. This fall, I’m especially excited to step into the role of head coach for a local 12s team. Coaching has been such a rewarding experience, and I love the opportunity it gives me to help young athletes build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy being part of a team.
In addition to volleyball, one of the most meaningful programs I was part of growing up was Girls on the Run. I still remember being in middle school and looking forward to each practice. GOTR provided such a positive, supportive environment that truly helped me grow, not only as a runner, but as a person. It was through GOTR that I discovered my love for running, something I still enjoy today, and I often find myself reflecting on the lessons I learned about confidence, goal-setting, and perseverance.
When I learned I would be interning with Girls on the Run, specifically supporting coach recruitment, I knew it was the perfect fit. Coaches play such an important role in shaping a positive experience for participants and I’m passionate about helping make sure every team has the support and leadership they deserve. I’m so excited to be part of an organization that had such a positive impact on me, and I look forward to giving back to this incredible community.
