  • First check to see if there is an existing team at your desired location in your community.
  • Designate a site liaison to serve as the point person for our staff
  • Complete a Start a Team Application
  • Recruit two to four volunteer coaches, who must attend and complete GOTR coach training
  • Provide a safe, dedicated OUTDOOR SPACE for practice and running activities
  • Identify two days a week for 75-90 minute practices
  • Teams must consist of 8-16 girls

Become A Site Liaison

The site liaison is a volunteer position that enables connection between the host site, coaches, and our Program Director. Site liaisons may also be a coach, though it is not required to hold both roles.

  • Ensure that coaches and girls are having a positive experience: inform the Girls on the Run office of any areas where extra support is needed
  • Maintain regular communication with coaches and GOTR Program Director regarding scheduling issues such as school closure dates or early dismissal
