Lizzie Kroeze
Welcome, Lizzie, AmeriCorps 2025-2026 Development VISTA
Hi everyone, I’m Lizzie! I just graduated from University of St Andrews in Scotland, and now I’m back in San Francisco and so thrilled to be working for Girls on the Run Bay Area as their Development VISTA!
I found GOTRBA through Americorps and was drawn to their commitment to empowerment through physical activity and excited by the opportunity to contribute to an impactful program. As the Development VISTA, I will be working behind the scenes assisting with marketing, development, program operations, and community engagement, as well as attending various events across the Bay Area to promote the organization.
The majority of my education was spent at an all-girls school in Sydney, Australia. There I was fortunate to have great sports programs, accessible for every skill level. I was excited to run at my school’s athletic carnival every year, no matter how well I did. I got to be a part of an inclusive and empowering environment during my ten years there and I believe every young girl deserves to find their self-confidence and identity in an equally safe space. GOTR makes this possible for so many young girls every year!

As well as my VISTA position, I will be coaching a team this season! Growing up playing soccer, tennis, and netball, I strongly believe that running and exercise leads to a healthy body and mind. I’m fortunate to have volunteered as a coach for City of Sydney Netball Association and as a surf mentor for Wave Project Scotland. Both experiences showed me the importance of physical activity for youth development and taught me invaluable life and teaching skills; skills I am excited to bring to coaching this year!
I strongly resonate with GOTR’s mission of instilling confidence and joy in young girls through running. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team this year and can’t wait to see you all at the 5k!
